Betsy took me from Gustavo and Amy's beautiful cabin (thank you, Sherri) in Carnelian Bay on north Lake Tahoe to South Lake Tahoe to pick up my resupply box and to mail one to my next stop in Sierra City. We then drove back along the lake where we could see the beautiful water and luxurious homes. One of the most interesting spots was the overlook at Emerald Bay where you could see the only island in Lake Tahoe. It has the remnants of a castle-like tea house built on it dating to the 1920's.

On our way back we stopped for lunch at Gar Woods, a bar and grill that fronts the lake. Sherri had just been there with her dog. We sat outside and enjoyed the view. Betsy had a crab relleno that was delicious. I had grilled fish tacos.

Later we sat around and talked, then watched the start of the Republican National Convention. LOL

I'm all packed and ready to hit the trail again. Betsy will drop me off and head back home via the western side of the Sierra. I'll miss her, but we have some plans coming up in a few weeks. By then I hope to be past the halfway mark.

Sherri is returning to her house painters. Hopefully they haven't needed her too much.
