Annette and Bob had coffee, bacon, and delicious freshly made biscuits for me at breakfast. After breakfast I helped Bob with a couple of chores and then we sat around telling stories. Lunch was spaghetti and honeydew.
Then it was off to town and Sonora Pass to return me to the trail. I wanted to camp out at the pass to get an early and cooler start on the 1000 foot climb which departs north from the road.
While at the pass I talked with several thru hikers and hung out with Camper Dan's wife as she waited for him to appear. Unfortunately the brakes on their camper were not doing well so she was staying put until he showed up. Dan carries a Spot, but without cell service at the top of the pass she was unable to locate him. I suggested that she might want to stop a law enforcement officer or hitch to get a ride into the valley to check on him. He should have been a day or two behind me so I think he'll show up tomorrow. At least I hope so.
My good friends and Trail Angels Bob and Annette.
Christmas Tree, who just happened to be carrying five shoes. Lost one in a stream crossing. Got a free pair her size from another hiker carrying an extra pair. And another pair not her size from a remote hiker box in VVR.
Raven, who I slept with a week or so ago. Did that raise an eyebrow? She cowboy camped outside my tent and talked my ear off for an hour or so until we both fell asleep. So she says we slept together. LOL
