March 12 - No Holding Jonas Back!

As we left Mike Herrera's Trail Angel Sanctuary we knew it was ten miles to water. Cool temperatures made it easy to cover the distance without getting thirsty, but hard to keep the muscles moving. Jonas wanted to make another 18 miles, but I just wasn't up for it after the workout and freezing rain yesterday. At Tule Springs we agreed that he should continue at a faster pace to make his schedule. We were sorry to part company, but we'll stay in touch.

Jonas at our last rest stop together. He would go on another 8 miles. Me just 3.25.

I camped in Nance Canyon just beyond this sign.

  1. Glad to see you are getting to see all the extremes of weather, ha ha. Jonas showed up at Barrel Springs about 3 minutes after you had left. He was torn between running after you or resting his blisters. Have a great hike.

  2. Thanks for helping Jonas to track me down! We had a nice dinner at the golf course in Warner Springs. You rock, Ed!
