PCT Revisited

PCT Revisited

Deb and Rick returned to the start of the Pacific Crest Trail today after almost two years away. If you've been following my blog since 2016 you may remember that we hiked together after a chance meeting at the top of a climb out of Big Bear in the San Gabriel Mountains north of Los Angeles. Deb and Rick were taking a break and I was just passing by when we shared pleasantries. Later we camped together several times before being joined together with Justin. The four of us gathered more friends along the way and spent many days enjoying each other's company until Kennedy Meadows South where we all took a break to let the snow melt in the High Sierra. I continued in mid-June. Deb and Rick returned in late June. Two days out of KM Deb took a fall and needed to be airlifted out. Nearly two years later, after lots of surgery and rehab, she's back! Starting over again at the Mexican border she hopes to thru hike the entire PCT this year. I'm here for a couple of days to see her off! And along the way I hope to meet up with Deb and Rick to offer moral support as well as physical support.

Look for Deb Fuller on Facebook and online at https://share.garmin.com/rdadventures.

They're also starting their travels with Don, a writer for AARP magazine. I'll be excited to see their names in a future article.
